Welcome to Lake Trasimeno
Arrive independently and check into your accommodation. Spend the afternoon exploring Castiglione del Lago, a fortified village overlooking the lake. Wander through its narrow streets and squares, stopping to admire the views. At Christmas, the village glows with festive decorations, including the spectacular illuminated Christmas tree reflected in the lake after dark. Return for dinner and overnight stay.
Perugia and New Year’s Eve
After breakfast, discover Perugia, from Corso Vannucci and Piazza IV Novembre to the atmospheric underground streets of Rocca Paolina. Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping or an optional visit to the City of Chocolate. Return to your accommodation in the afternoon to get ready for the New Year’s Eve gala dinner, celebrations and midnight toast to 2027. Overnight stay.
New Year’s Day in Assisi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off for Assisi. Stroll along its stone streets to the Basilica of Saint Francis, Piazza del Comune and the Basilica of Saint Clare. Depending on the local programme, seasonal concerts and religious celebrations may be taking place. You might also explore the living nativity traditions in nearby villages such as Petrignano d’Assisi and Armenzano. Return for dinner and overnight stay.

Take a little extra time by the waterfront in Castiglione del Lago just before sunset. Winter light, rolling hills and reflections on the water create one of Lake Trasimeno’s loveliest views.
